Chongqing, September 1, 2023 – At the 2023 Intelligent Connected Vehicle Industry Cooperation Forum held in Yongchuan District, Chongqing, Rino.ai signed a cooperation agreement with the Yongchuan government to collaborate in urban logistics. At the same event, Rino.ai also entered into a strategic partnership with Chongqing Department Store, a leading local enterprise. Leveraging their respective strengths, the two parties aim to co-create a new model for retail delivery that improves operational efficiency.
Co-Creating a New Retail Delivery Model
With the rapid development of autonomous driving technology, smart cities, and demand for greater work efficiency, driverless vehicles are increasingly entering the public spotlight, becoming a hot topic in logistics and delivery.
Chongqing Department Store is the first large state-owned commercial enterprise in Southwest China and a major regional retail chain undergoing digital transformation. Rino.ai, an L4 autonomous driving company, brings extensive experience in autonomous driving R&D and commercialization.
Through this partnership, the two sides will jointly develop innovative delivery solutions, accelerate the commercialization, scaling, and industrialization of their projects in Yongchuan, and set a benchmark for the integration of retail and autonomous delivery.
Yan Ming, Rino.ai’s Regional Government Affairs Director, said:
“Rino.ai has always focused on autonomous driving products and services for urban public roads. This strategic cooperation with Chongqing Department Store is just the starting point. From unmanned delivery, we will continue to provide Yongchuan with advanced autonomous driving products and integrated solutions for urban logistics—meeting the diverse and ubiquitous autonomous driving needs in freight, delivery, and other city services in the future.”
Accelerating the Development of Western China’s Intelligent Vehicle Hub
Yongchuan, Chongqing, is the first city in China to open all public roads to autonomous driving and has taken the lead in Western China in issuing regulations such as the Interim Measures for Road Testing and Application of Intelligent Connected Vehicles in Yongchuan District and the Interim Measures for Testing and Operation Management of Low-Speed Driverless Vehicles in Yongchuan District. These have laid a solid foundation for Rino.ai’s operations in the city.
Rino.ai has already established a local subsidiary in Yongchuan and will use the city as a launchpad to expand unmanned logistics delivery services across Chongqing, the Southwest region, and ultimately nationwide.
In the near future, Rino.ai plans to accelerate its commercialization strategy, explore new operational scenarios, and work with partners to build a new autonomous driving service ecosystem—helping Yongchuan realize its vision of becoming Western China’s Intelligent Connected New Energy Vehicle Capital and contributing to Chongqing’s goal of creating a trillion-yuan smart vehicle industry cluster.
