August 21 — Rino.ai (White Rhino Zhida, Beijing Technology Co., Ltd.), an L4 autonomous driving company, announced the completion of its Series B+ financing, bringing its total Series B funding to nearly RMB 500 million. Existing investors SF Express and Linear Capital participated, while new investors including Yijun Capital, 360 Fund, and Huatai Zijin joined. Notably, this marks SF Express’s third investment within one year, following its initial injection in August 2024.
According to Zhu Lei, Founder and CEO, the new capital will be allocated across three core areas: vehicle-grade autonomous vehicle development, AI technology iteration, and expansion of commercial use cases, accelerating large-scale deployment in last-mile logistics.
Founded in 2019 by a team of former Baidu autonomous driving engineers, Rino.ai combines expertise in self-driving, automotive manufacturing, logistics, and internet operations, ensuring strong foundations for real-world application. Initially focusing on supermarket delivery with partners like Yonghui and Hema Fresh, the company pivoted in 2023 to logistics use cases, especially station-to-hub delivery.
Rino.ai’s active fleet has surged from about 100 vehicles at the end of 2024 to over 1,000 today, covering 100+ cities nationwide and serving leading logistics firms including SF Express, ZTO, J&T Express, and China Post.
Operational data shows its unmanned vehicles can cut last-mile delivery costs by 30–50%:
A franchise operator reduced unit delivery costs from RMB 0.2 to 0.1 per parcel after introducing unmanned vehicles.
In direct-operated networks, autonomous vehicles eliminated 4–5 hours of daily back-and-forth trips between depots and transfer stations, freeing couriers to focus on pickup and delivery, boosting throughput by over 20%.
With 24/7 operational capacity, unmanned vehicles can execute nighttime deliveries via remote dispatch.

A key focus of this funding is the development of vehicle-grade autonomous vehicles, addressing customer concerns around reliability and lifespan. Rino.ai is following automotive industry standards in design, supply chain, and manufacturing, with rigorous testing to ensure safety, durability, and higher uptime. This approach also supports policy compliance and road access approval.
Beyond last-mile express logistics, Rino.ai is expanding into broader urban delivery scenarios:
Partnering with Ele.me to launch campus delivery networks, expected to reach 100 universities next year.
Scaling in supermarket replenishment and industrial logistics.
By combining in-house autonomous driving technology with strategic ecosystem partnerships—including Xinyuan Auto, Inovance Automotive, RoboSense, Shoucheng Holdings, Zhongli Group, and Qingxin Internet—Rino.ai is building strong barriers to entry and accelerating commercial deployment at scale.
Looking ahead, Rino.ai plans to:
Consolidate its core express logistics business, while expanding into retail replenishment and intra-city freight.
Diversify its product line to match customer demand.
Grow its fleet to 5,000 active vehicles by 2026.
